Terms of service

Early draft — not yet legally reviewed. Last updated: 14 July 2026.

What MightBuy is

MightBuy lets you save products you spot anywhere on the web into a personal, browsable collection — via the web app and the browser extension. It's free to use and monetised through affiliate links (see how MightBuy makes money). By using MightBuy you agree to these terms.

MightBuy is operated by [Decision needed: legal identity — same entity as named in the privacy policy, with contact email].

Early-stage software, honestly

MightBuy is in an early, pre-release stage. Your saved items currently live in your own browser's storage — we don't yet keep a server copy, so clearing your browser data (or switching devices) means your shop doesn't come with you, and updates during this stage may occasionally reset things. Back up anything you'd hate to lose.

We're not the seller

  • MightBuy is a place to collectproducts, not buy them. Every purchase happens on the retailer's site, under the retailer's terms. We're not a party to it.
  • Prices, availability, and product details are captured at the moment you save and can go stale. The retailer's live listing always wins.
  • Product names, images, and trademarks belong to their owners. We display them to describe the products you saved. If you're a retailer or rights-holder with a concern, contact [Decision needed: takedown/IP contact email]and we'll respond promptly.

Affiliate links

When you click a saved product, we may route the click through an affiliate network and earn a commission on your purchase, at no extra cost to you. Links only become affiliate links on your click, in the web app; the extension never modifies links, codes, or cookies. Full detail on the how MightBuy makes money page.

Your content & acceptable use

  • Your lists are yours. Where content you add is protected by rights, you give us the licence we need to store and display it back to you (and to people you share a list with) — nothing more.
  • Don't use MightBuy for anything unlawful, don't abuse or overload the service (including automated scraping of our APIs), and don't use shared lists to publish unlawful, infringing, or abusive content.
  • We can remove shared content or suspend access that breaks these rules.

Shared wishlists

Sharing a list makes it visible to anyone with the link. You're responsible for what your shared lists contain. You can unshare a list at any time.

Age

You must be at least [Decision needed: minimum age — match the privacy policy: 13 / 16 / 18] to use MightBuy.

No warranty & liability

MightBuy is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind — including that saved prices are current, that captured details are accurate, or that the service is uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for losses arising from use of the service, from stale product data, or from purchases you make from retailers.

[Decision needed: liability cap — a common approach for a free service is “total liability limited to £100 or the amount you paid us in the last 12 months, whichever is greater”; confirm with a solicitor] Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited (e.g. for fraud).

Ending things

You can stop using MightBuy at any time; today your data is in your browser, so deleting it is in your hands (once accounts exist, you'll be able to delete your account and data from settings). We can suspend or end access for breach of these terms.

Changes & law

We'll update these terms as the product grows and flag material changes in the app before they take effect. These terms are governed by the law of [Decision needed: confirm: England and Wales, with courts of England and Wales].
